      Economic Consulting Research Officer – Energy, Environment, Communications & Infrastructure

      Berlin or Frankfurt, Germany



      A global economic consulting firm is seeking an Economic Consulting Research Officer to join its Berlin or Frankfurt offices.


      In the “Energy & Infrastructure” practice, you will apply economic approaches from the areas of competition and regulatory economics, finance, energy economics, auction theory and econometrics to the burning questions of the energy and transport transition.


      Mandates include; the preparation and critical review of economic expert reports in court and arbitration proceedings, the design of funding systems and tenders for renewable energies, e-mobility and hydrogen, and regulatory and strategic advice on large infrastructure investments.


      Key Responsibilities

      • Active participation in studies, reports and presentations, from the conception to the implementation of economic analyzes through to the documentation and presentation of the results
      • Research, quantitative investigation and analysis of company, industry and market data, including using statistical instruments
      • Close collaboration with colleagues and customers as well as clear communication of complex economic issues


      Skills, Knowledge & Experience

      • Very good university degree (master’s, doctorate) in economics or a related discipline
      • Strong oral and written communication skills in German and English, additional language skills are an advantage
      • High level of reliability, motivation, sense of responsibility and ability to work in a team
      • Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills, precise and solution-oriented working methods and the ability to delve into unfamiliar questions
      • Initial experience in applied economic research
