      Overview

      A rapidly growing provider of ESG compliance and sustainability performance management solutions is currently looking to appoint an ESG Engagement Manager.

      The firm is looking for a talented ESG Engagement Manager (German speaking) to join the client solutions team. Your focus will be to provide advisory support to clients along their ESG journey and ensure they reach their goals using insights from the Atlas platform. As an early employee at a fast-growing VC-backed startup, you’ll play a key role in delivering successful projects with an exciting and global client base, driving forward the digital transformation of ESG data. You’ll be part of an international team of experienced ESG professionals and software engineers, headquartered in Berlin, from the early stages of its development the company has built market leading ESG software solution.

       

      Key Responsibilities

      • Manage a portfolio of clients providing end-to-end advisory on ESG topics.
      • Establish clear roadmaps for clients to achieve their ESG objectives (e.g. CSRD/EU taxonomy/SFDR compliance) through a combination of hands-on consulting and software solutions
      • Build client presentations and deliverables, using both qualitative and quantitative data to effectively meet client expectations. This could include conducting double materiality assessments, executing EU taxonomy calculations, devising CSRD readiness strategies, and facilitating workshops for senior management to fully understand ESG regulations.
      • Advise on evolving ESG trends, and be a source of knowledge on key ESG standards, frameworks, and regulations (e.g. CSRD, GRI, SASB, ISSB, SFDR, EU Taxonomy, LkSG)
      • Collaborate with product/engineering teams to help build the market-leading ESG software solution. This could include communicating customer pain points and needs that can be solved with technology and sharing the results of pilot consulting projects to inform software development.
      • Work with sales to win new clients by sharing ESG and client knowledge

       

      Skills, Knowledge & Experience

      • Candidates must meet the following requirements:
      • You have >3 years of relevant experience (e.g. in ESG consulting, ESG data analysis, sustainability reporting)
      • You have in-depth knowledge and practical experience with at least one major ESG standard/regulation (preferably CSRD/EU Taxonomy/SFDR)
      • You must be fluent in English and German. Additional languages are a plus.
      • You must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel. Additional data/programming skills are a bonus (e.g. R, Tableau, Python, JavaScript).

You can communicate complex topics and help business leaders understand the importance of ESG. You have a vision for how to build new and impactful solutions that clients will love.
      • You are analytical: You enjoy working with ESG data and can bring structure and analysis to derive meaningful insights from complex information.
      • You are entrepreneurial: You are results-driven and thrive in a startup environment. You think creatively, are solution-oriented, adaptable to change, and have a drive for continuous innovation.
      • You have an interest in technology: You are excited to be part of a team building a technology product and can work in collaboration with software engineers. You are motivated to harness the power of data and technology to achieve ESG and broader sustainability goals.
      • You are a team player: You work collaboratively with your colleagues and consider what is best for the team. You have a proven ability to operate in a high-performance team.

      Additional Information

      The firm operates on a remote-first basis. Candidates can either work out of the firm’s headquarters in Berlin or remotely, so can choose the setup that works best for them. Remote locations should be within +/- 3 hours of CET time. The firm regularly holds get togethers at co-locations to strengthen a great culture across geographies.
