Overview
IP and Technology Transactions Attorney sought on behalf of a New York-Based investment and technology development firm.
The firm seeks a talented attorney specializing in intellectual property and technology transactions to join its Legal & Compliance team. This individual will become part of a small, highly skilled team responsible for a wide range of commercial contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate data and software license agreements.
- Handle various technology, purchase, service, and consulting agreements.
- Advise financial and technology-oriented businesses within the firm on intellectual property matters and related legal issues
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- A law degree, an impressive record of academic achievement, and at least four years of experience in-house and/or at a law firm; more senior candidates, including those with 15+ years of experience, are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating licensing, technology, and other commercial contracts, as well as advising clients on intellectual property issues and contract interpretation.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical abilities, sound judgment, keen attention to detail, an impressive work ethic, and proven drafting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with commercial software and financial and/or market data licenses is preferred; experience with issues relating to open source software and/or generative artificial intelligence is a plus, but not required.
