      A leading global advisory firm for businesses and investors is currently looking to hire a talented Senior Legal Counsel in London.


      The firm advises decision-makers on the opportunities and risks facing their businesses. Clients develop deep relationships and trust the firm on their most important commercial issues. They value discretion, independence of thought, and a highly differentiated approach.

For nearly 30 years, it has worked on some of the most consequential and high-profile problems facing business leaders, and the range of what it covers is extraordinary: M&A, strategy, shareholder perspectives, regulatory and policy issues, disputes, senior hires, digital and cyber, sustainability, and more – across every industry sector, and all over the world.


      Key Responsibilities

      • Risk-reviewing potential client projects;
      • Providing internal advice on commercial issues, and legal and regulatory risks;
      • Translating complex information into actionable advice for non-legal stakeholders;
      • Collaborating with non-legal teams to advance the firm’s risk-related strategic initiatives;
      • Monitoring and advising on legal and regulatory developments that may have impact on the firm’s policies and procedures; and
      • Preparing and helping draft guidance and training to colleagues.


      Skills, Knowledge & Experience

      Candidates should have between three and five years of Post- Qualified Experience (PQE), as well as the following:


      • Prior legal experience either in private practice, in-house, or at a UK/EU government agency, or a combination thereof;.
      • Some regulatory experience is strongly preferred;.
      • A proven track record of advising on commercial issues, as well as on legal and regulatory risks;.
      • An ability to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution;.
      • Demonstrated success in executing against clear goals in a fast-paced environment;.
      • Excellent written and oral communications skills, and an ability to convey key points clearly and succinctly to both legal and non-legal stakeholders; and
      • JD or LLM and active bar membership.
      • Candidates interested in part-time employment will also be considered.

      • Problem-solvers: Executives must be able to understand new issues quickly; to make sense of, and ‘join the dots’ between, diverse sources of qualitative information; and to demonstrate nuanced human, commercial and political judgement in interpreting such information.
      • Sophisticated advisers: Executives must be able to use the evidence available to them – which is usually complex and can be ambiguous – to build cogent arguments; derive credible conclusions; and develop pragmatic, actionable commercial advice for clients.
      • Persuasive communicators: The firm also needs to have the ability to convey findings and recommendations in clear, convincing and compelling fashion, both orally and in writing.
      • Natural networkers: Employees must have high EQ, and the ability to establish and maintain warm relationships with a wide range of people. Sensitivity to others’ needs and good judgement are essential.
      • Collegial potential leaders: Culture is extremely collaborative. Sharp elbows and arrogance are simply not tolerated.
